About the Lions Gate Bridge cameras

The Lions Gate Bridge (Highway 99) has only three lanes, and the centre lane switches direction: two lanes into downtown in the morning, two lanes to the North Shore in the afternoon. One stalled car or a crash on the causeway backs traffic up quickly. The bridge-end cameras show which way the centre lane is running and how far the line goes.

If the Lions Gate is jammed, the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge on Highway 1 is the other way across Burrard Inlet.
